Josephine Accardo grew up in Monmouth County NJ, the youngest of three. She attended 

Montclair State University where she received her BA in Family Science and Human 

Development. She worked in the Newark School system before her role as a 

social worker with the NJ child welfare system. Her life brought her to relocate to Maryland, 

where she was employed as a social worker in a nursing home facility, serving the Maryland 

and D.C communities. During her years raising her 5 children, Josephine was their homeschool 

teacher and curriculum designer. She is very proud of their academic achievements. Three of 

her 5 have graduated the University of South Florida with honors and are now employed as an attorney, a paralegal, and as a business analyst, while another is a 3rd year undergrad, and the youngest a Senior in traditional high school. She also created and ran educational cooperative organizations, taught 

biology, early childhood education, language arts/English/Literature, and religious formation for 

various communities. Her husband’s career brought them to live in England and Japan, where 

Josie created and ran a woman’s organization that provided spiritual formation, as well as 

cultural, and educational experiences. Josie is no stranger to grief and bereavement. She 

became a widow at the age of 49, when her youngest was only 9 years of age. This prompted 

Josie to enhance her education, receiving a commissioning as a lay pastoral minister, while 

earning certifications in grief & bereavement, law of attraction, reiki master, emotional 

intelligence, and a clinical emotional freedom technique practitioner. 

 

Josie’s degree in Family Science and Human Development, along with her most recent 

certifications, past career opportunities, and life experiences have brought her the opportunity to 

create her Emotional Wellness and Relationship Coaching Practice, Inner Pieces Wellness, 

where she empowers you to build yourself up, one piece at a time!
